Floor Repair Patches, Inner Sill Replacement

Now that all the sill parts are removed, it is time to repair the floor. The first rusted part cut out, and a patch fashioned from a bit of the old inner rail.

Patch welded in. The bend in the rail made it easy to form the patch to conform to the floor ribs.

Turns out there were pin holes all along the floor, so several more patches.

Several patches later, the new inner rail is fit into place and tack welded.

This was the easiest piece to fit in the car. I did cut off about eight inches of the inner rail so that it would line up better in the car with the existing frame. It is best to leave as much of the existing car in place so that things line up better. That was probably the best advice on the internet, just because you have the entire panel does not mean you have to use it all. Cut it to the size you actually need.
